Casa Lucia a Hidden Gem in Byblos Old Town

We found the coolest restroom in the world and it can be found in Casa Lucia restaurant in Byblos Old town. You are surely asking why we started talking about restrooms? That's because in the restrooms you find condoms and tampons for visitors; a very cool initiative to promote safe sex and break taboos.
The restaurant is surrounded by beautiful greeneries where you can enjoy a delicious Spanish meal away in a peaceful romantic environment.
We started with the Goat Chankleesh Dip and the Quinoa Salad.
•The Goat Chankleesh Dip was very good! It consisted of dried goat cheese, chankleesh, tomato, onions, jalapeño, chili, coriander and lemon juice. It was kind of an explosion of tastes. It was served with a basket of toasted bread. We loved it.
•The Quinoa Salad was exceptional thanks to its tasty mango/ginger dressing. It contained quinoa, seasonal vegetables, sundried tomato, dates, herbs and spices. The mango/ginger dressing gave it a sweet tangy flavor which made it very refreshing and delicious.
As main platters we had the Smoked Salmon Sandwich and the Mini Tortilla Pizza Manchego & Chorizo.
•The Smoked Salmon Sandwich was perfectly prepared with smoked salmon, cream cheese, endive, caper and dill with a balsamic sauce all in a fresh brown baguette. The smoked salmon were very fresh and all in all the sandwich was very light, tasteful and balanced.
•The Mini Tortilla Pizza was very fulfilling although it had a small portion; that's because it was topped with Manchego and chorizo. The tomato sauce used was perfect as it contained basil, jalapeños, chili, onions and coriander.
For dessert we couldn't but try the Oreo Cheesecake and to lessen the guilt feeling we also had a Fruit Salad.

•The Oreo Cheesecake was appetizing as the dough was crispy and thick, and the cream was consistent and mildly sweet. It was topped with a delicious layer of Oreo and cocoa, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
•The Fruit Salad ingredients were fresh and we loved the fact that they used honey instead of sugar to sweeten it.
To us, visiting Casa Lucia was like discovering a hidden gem in the heart of Byblos. They serve delicious healthy dishes full of tastes and flavors. We also loved the wonderful setting with greeneries everywhere and the impeccable service.
