Life with a View at the The Roof Beirut in Four Seasons Hotel Beirut

It's becoming hard to impress your date when you take her/him because they have almost been to most of the romantic hip restaurants in town. But in case you want to higher the standards, the The Roof at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beirut is a wonderful idea. Refreshing cocktails or delicious bites enjoyed at the highest rooftop in Beirut will definitely taste better with a 360 view of the Mediterranean sea where the stars are nearest to you.
Before even thinking about the food, visiting a rooftop always makes echo to some refreshing drinks while gazing the sunset, so we were eager to try the Mocktails since we are huge fans of fruity non alcoholic drinks. We tried Camouflage and Banana Cow.
•Camouflage consisted of pineapple, passion fruit, fresh lemon and strawberries. It was very refreshing, full of flavors and vitamins and most importantly a stress management drink whether by its extraordinary taste or the way it was served with a bubble wrap. Who doesn't love to pop the bubbles?
•Banana Cow consisted of coconut cream, fresh banana, milk chocolate and marshmallows. It was an orgasmic kind of drink with its creamy texture and marvelous taste.
We loved its appealing presentation and attractive color mix.
We started with our favorite appetizers; the Spicy Tempura Calamari and the Edamame with Rock Salt and Smoked Paprika.
•The Tempura Calamari were phenomenal! They were extremely crispy, non oily and very flavorful. They were served with a unique spicy mayo dip that made us drool.
•The Edamame were the healthy part of our appetizers. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned with the right amount of salt and paprika.
As mains we had a variety of sushi and sashimi including our favorite makis. They were very fresh and tasty especially the salmon and the tuna sashimi. We loved eating sushi while enjoying the view because sushi is the kind of chill food that goes very well with the ambiance of The Roof with sunset drinks.
For dessert we had the Mini Ice Cream Buns with Grué de Cacao. They were served with a cup of chocolate dip. We loved the mixture of the textures and the mild sweetness of these bites. At the end, the platter looked as if there was a chocolate crime scene.
We loved our Four Seasons experience at the Roof as everything was perfect; the music, the service, the view and the excellent cocktails. We can't wait to create more memories at this beautiful hotel.

Romantic Dinner at Pasquale in Grand Hills Hotel in Broumana

Summer is officially here and outings far from the city are highly needed to runaway from the traffic and the heat. Broumana is only 20 minutes away from Beirut with endless choices of restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy the fresh breeze. We decided to try Pasquale, an Italian restaurant in Grand Hills Hotel with a beautiful garden where you can enjoy a relaxing romantic dinner in a typical Italian ambiance.
We started with some salads and Beef Carpaccio.
•The Shrimp Salad was extremely refreshing as it contained perfectly cooked shrimps on a bed of greens, topped with orange slices in a lemon oil dressing. The orange slices added a unique sweet and lemony flavor to the mix and made the salad look summery in its presentation and taste.
•The Fresh Mozzarella Salad consisted of fresh mozzarella cheese balls with 3 kinds of tomatoes: red cherry tomatoes, yellow cherry tomatoes and normal tomato slices with extra virgin olive oil. The mix of tomatoes and especially the tangy flavor of the yellow cherry tomatoes made the salad very light and flavorful.
•The Beef Carpaccio was phenomenal. It consisted of raw beef slices topped with fresh mushrooms, parmesan shavings and a traditional Sicilian Bread. We loved eating the meat on a slice of bread with a slice of mushroom and parmesan. The meat was melting in our mouths and the mixture was very delicious.
Now for the main platters, we had the Risotto Porcini and the Quattro Fromaggi Pizza.
•The Risotto Porcini was exceptional! The rice was perfectly cooked "al dente" in a tasty creamy sauce. The porcini mushrooms portion was very generous. We sprinkled some parmesan on the top so that we enjoy this platter to the max.
•The Quattro Fromaggi Pizza was overwhelming. We can't remember the time we were able to finish a four cheese pizza, but the thin dough and the balanced quantities of cheeses used at Pasquale made from this pizza a lighter yet richer version of the normal one.
Now for the dessert, you can't leave an Italian restaurant without having the traditional Tiramisu and some sorbet scoops.
•The Tiramisu was one of the best we had till now! The chef excelled in preparing it. It was fully made with mascarpone cheese without adding milk which made the cream very consistent and yummy. The coffee flavor was very mild which made it very enjoyable.
•The Sorbet cup consisted of 3 scoops; lemon, strawberry and mango. We loved them all but our favorite was the lemon as it was prepared with limoncello.
We enjoyed the mini day trip to Broumana where we didn't get bothered from the continuous car horning and the sticky hot weather.

Arabesque Iftar at the Four Seasons Beirut

Ramadan is the perfect time for families to get together and to bond back with friends and loved ones over a delicious warm iftar. We got to experience an Arabesque iftar at the Four Seasons Hotel Terrace where you get to admire the beautiful view of Beirut while smoking your shisha or having a refreshing cocktail. There is a variety of items that you can choose from from their menu including some vegetarian dishes, main platters and fruit cocktail mixes.
The Iftar starts with Jallab and Amar El Din.
Then come the traditional Yellow Lentil Soup with its warm and appetizing taste and its creamy buttery texture.
The majestic Lebanese Cold and Hot Mezza Tray made its appearance then with numerous items.
•the Fattoush and the Tabbouleh were very refreshing thanks to their balanced lemony sauces and extremely fresh vegetables.
•The Hommos with lahme and pine nuts it was very creamy and tasty.
•The Cheese Rakakat were non oily and were filled with delicious flavorful cheese.
•The Kebbe were crispy and delicious as they contained minced meat with pine nuts and cheese.
•The Halloumi Rakakat were .
•The Soujouk Pomegranate Molasses were very addictive with their exceptional sauce and good quality meat.
•The Shrimps Harra were very innovative as we never tried them before and they were an explosion of tastes with their mildly spicy special red sauce.
There were also many other items such as the Moutabbal, Spinach Fatayer, Batata Harra, Fish Tajin, Loubieh Bel Zet, Sfiha and Fattet Batenjen with Awarma.
We were then served freshly baked saj mana2esh with jebneh or zaatar.
As main platter you get to choose between Veal Laban Emmo, Mixed Grill, Chicken with Herbs and Butter or Pan Seared Sultan Ibrahim.
We tried the Mixed Grill and it was a great choice. It consisted of Lahme, Kastaleta, Kebab and Taouk served with grilled vegetables. The meat of the kebab and lahme was succulent and well maritnated. The taouk were perfectly grilled and well seasoned.
Not to forget the refreshing fresh fruits cocktails with twists that add more charm to the whole experience; the mango with cinnamon and the watermelon with ginger were the queens of the night.

An iftar is never complete without the Lebanese sweets that have a different meaning during the holy month of Ramadan.
The desserts tray consisted of Lebanese Sweets selection that we all love such as the Halewe Bjeben, Karabeej, Znoud El Set, Kellej and many more. Plus of course some international items; chocolate mousse, profiteroles and peanut butter biscuits. Fresh fruits salad and a variety of ice cream flavors were middling this island of desserts.
Four Seasons Hotel always impresses us with its beautiful ambiance, great food and professional service whether on their terraces or their breath taking rooftop on the 27th floor.
