Happy Hours at Pablo Escobar in Vllage Dbayeh

It's rare to find a Mexican restaurant in Lebanon though their cuisine is very appetizing thanks to the combination of sauces, cheeses and spices used. Pablo Escobar a Mexican pub in the Village Dbayeh has been creating a lot of buzz because of its food and good vibes so we were very excited to try it especially when we knew that they do a happy hour on food everyday from 5pm to 8pm.
We wanted to try as many appetizers as we can because they were all very tempting plus they were at 50% off thanks to the happy hour.
•We started with the Trozos De Papa or Potato Wedges. They were perfectly cooked with a crispy seasoned coating. The cheddar sauce on the side made them even more delicious.
•We also had the Camarones Fritos or Deep Fried Shrimps. They were wrapped with osmaliyeh which made them very crunchy. The shrimps were fresh and had a good quality. They were served very beautifully; each shrimp in a cup filled with mango dressing. They were exquisite.
•Our favorite item were the Crujiente De Pollo or Deep Fried Chicken Strips. They were phenomenal as each strip was very thin, with an extremely crunchy coating and tasty seasoning. They were served with a honey mustard dip. They were so addictive and delicious.
•Last but not least, we had the Hongos Rellenos or Stuffed Mushrooms. They were served in a hot pan and we were pleased by their presentation even before trying them. They consisted of big fresh mushrooms filled with potatoes, bacon and cheese. The flavors were extraordinary! We advise you to have them first because they are heavy as appetizer.
We really enjoyed our afternoon at Pablo Escobar. The ambiance was marvelous, the service was very good and most importantly the food was impressive. We can't wait to visit the place again in order to try the Fajitas and Quesadillas.

WARCRAFT is Out - Movie Review

Warcraft video game lovers you can now live the full experience of your favorite game since the movie is finally out. We were excited to watch the film once we saw the trailer though we had no idea about the video game but it did not stop us from enjoying it and quickly understanding the events taking place. The movie is about monstrous Orcs who decide to colonize the earth and kill all the humans as their planet is about to die. It reminded us about the Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings series with its amazing locations and same like characters from dwarfs, wizards, and elves. The 3d effects and animations were phenomenal.
If you are a science fiction lover you surely don't want to miss this one.

Julia Roberts and George Clooney in Money Monster

People's favorite movie stars Julia Roberts and Geoge Clooney teamed up for a financial thriller; Money Monster out today. Kyle (Jack O'Connell), a young man who invested all his savings in the stock market, found out later that he lost everything and so he decided to get revenge from the TV host Lee Gates (George Clooney) who encouraged people to buy it.

The beauty of this film is that it shows what's really happening nowadays and how we are seduced everyday to gamble with our money hoping for a better future. Jodie Foster excelled as a director of the movie and like always, George Clooney and Julia Roberts performances were a treat to our eyes. Rating: 3.5/5 Duration: 98 minutes

Deli.co Finally Opens in Beirut Souks

Beirut has finally a deli or in other words a restaurant that serves fresh daily platters in addition to delicate sandwiches and meals that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch and even dinner. Deli.Co is the third baby from the Co. family that introduced to us Brgr.Co and Pzza.Co.
The place in Beirut Souks is a treat to the eyes because of all the delicious items you will see from fresh ready salads to gourmet cold cuts and yummy pastries. We loved the concept of being able to see the chefs preparing your sandwiches in front of you.
We started our lunch with some smoothies that are new to the family of Co: the Banana Boom Smoothie and the freshly prepared Mango Basil Smoothie. They were excellent!
•We loved the mixture of the mango with the basil as we never tried it or thought about it before. The smoothie was the definition of refreshing.
•The Banana Boom was the perfect smoothie to get all the proteins you need; it contained bananas and almond milk and to make it sweet while keeping it healthy, they used dates instead of sugar. We simply loved it.
As for the food, we tried 4 of their sandwiches since we couldn't resist.
•Our first Sandwich was the Open Faced Scottish Smoked Salmon. It was one of the best salmon sandwiches we ever had. It consisted of country loaf toasted bread slices topped with a special spiced avocado sauce and fresh salmon slices. We loved the flavors after each bite. It was served with chips on the side.
•We then passed to the Classic Chicken Club, an item that we never miss ordering. It was exceptional since it was full of yummy sauces and chicken were very well marinated and tender. The fried eggs and Gruyère cheese added more deliciousness to the sandwich. The bread was fresh and fluffy with crispy borders. The chips on the side and the dilled pickle made it more enjoyable.
•Our "coup de coeur" was the Sweet'N Spicy Chicken Wrap! We can't describe the amount of flavors this wrap has to offer. It contained roasted and shredded chicken topped with romaine lettuce, tomato relish and spicy sweet chili sauce in a tortilla wrap with a side of chips.
The wrap had the right amount of spices. Spicy food lovers it is a must try.
•Our last sandwich was something very new to us as it was brought directly from Montreal. The MTL's Old Fashioned Smoked Meat consisted of Montreal smoked brisket with mustard, served on Rye bread with a side of dill pickle. The meat was extremely tender, juicy and fresh! It's a very interesting sandwich to try if you are a meat lover.
Other than all the new sandwiches, salads and wraps brought by Deli.Co, there is a big attention given also to the desserts that are not fixed on the menu because they are daily prepared, not to forget also their Merry Cream.
We tried a slice of the iconic Apricot Pie, a Marbled Brownie and a Double Chocolate Cookie. The Apricot Pie was overwhelming with the big slices of fresh apricot, the tasty pastry cream and the perfect dough. The Marbled Brownie was marvelous and the Cookie made us drool.
We adored Deli.Co, the new concept added to the famous Co family. The ambiance was wonderful with vintage songs and cozy friendly decor that make you feel in one of New York delis. The food was extraordinary and they made sure to take care of the smallest detail. We can't wait to try their breakfast menu.

Charlotte Our New Favorite Restaurant in Beirut

Summer is near and so are the endless gatherings that will take place when families and friends return from abroad. One of the restaurants that should be number one on your list is Charlotte Beirut, a new beautiful place in Mar Mikhael that has a French spirit in its amazing decor and interesting menu. The guys behind Charlotte are experts in the food industry as they already introduced to us Nonna and Goutons Voir.
They first serve fresh bread and a healthy eggplant mix with yoghurt and basil instead of the butter.
We started with the Croque Madame and it was a divine start; the best Croque Madame you will ever taste. It contained ham and an overdose of cheese and cream thanks to the Emmental, mozzarella and fresh goat milk. It was topped with a flawless fried egg and was served on pain de campagne with a side of green salad. We loved the taste and we "mmmm-ed" after each bite.
For main platters we had the Steak Frites and the Crevettes au Curry Rouge.
•The Steak was exceptional! The meat was succulent; so tender and juicy and the sauce was finger licking good! It was very consistent and full of flavors with this spicy after taste thanks to the pieces of pepper. The fries were very crispy and not oily. We loved dipping them in the sauce with every bite of meat. It is a must try platter.
•The Crevettes au Curry Rouge was exceptional. The sauce teleported us to heaven! It was made of red curry and mango chutney giving an incredibly impressive mix. The shrimps were perfectly cooked but we would have preferred if they were served without their unpeeled tail that was not practical to eat. They were served with basmati rice with raisins.

To make from our dinner a memorable one, the Crêpe au Caramel Beurre Salé made us drool. It was simply orgasmic! We can't express what we felt after each bite. The dough was perfectly prepared and the sauce was out of this world! Caramel lovers, it is highly recommended.

Our experience at Charlotte was phenomenal from the positive ambiance to the friendly service and of course the yummy food that will keep us coming for more.
P.S: we want to sign a petition so that they give us the chance to choose between shrimps or chicken for the Red Curry platter because we love chicken curry especially with this amazing sauce.
