Jap is the newest restaurant from the same company that owns Kababji, La Table Fine and UBay. The place is beautifully decorated overlooking the Mediterranean sea, with a small Japanese bonsai tree on every table.
• We loved the chicken lollipops, they were very crunchy and full of flavors.
• The spicy crunchy shrimp salad was succulent. The shrimps were perfectly cooked and the spices used were excellent plus it was very rich with avocado that made it very creamy.
• The shrimp popcorn were very addictive! They are like the shrimp tempura but come in small pieces like popcorn.
• The spicy edamame disappeared in 10 seconds because they were amazingly marinated.
Of course we got to try a selection of their makis, they were all delicious and the ingredients used were extremely fresh.
Our favorite roll was the Philadelphia cheese with salmon as the cream cheese gave it a heavenly taste. We also loved the spicy salmon rolls.
We adored the fact that at Jap the ginger is homemade. It comes very crunchy, full of taste and it's something that we haven't found in another sushi place till now.
For dessert we binged on the mochi ice cream which is a Japanese specialty that consists of pounded sticky rice cake with an ice cream filling inside. They were orgasmic.
Plus they offered us a selection of their signature ice cream flavors such as the teriyaki ice cream, the ginger ice cream and the green tea ice cream.
We can't wait to visit Jap again and try more items from their varied menu prepared by Chef Masato who came all the way from Japan to dazzle us with his delicious Asian food.
